Getting through years of photos and scrapbook today

Last December, my neighbor stopped with its annual Christmas treat. After my thank you very much, we started to talk about scrapbooking. She had been dying to get their photos in boxes and scrapbooks, or even discs, but the idea was simply overwhelming. She had never maintained their photos organized and she will not even sure that most of the photos were taken or where.

That was when I took to my office and showed him the pictures I have totes of awaiting scrapbooker and my table of "progress" of work. I told him, "You do not have to waste, as the photos in the magazines they read. If you find that too overwhelming and just want to get their photos in some kind of logical order, doing what I'm doing. You see, I love to scrapbook pages are beautiful and fantastic works of art, but I am 12 years of pictures to scrapbook and in 1-2 hours per page, I would get anywhere. So I opted for a shortcut. "

Pick the best photos and divide them between three scrapbooks: mine my daughter and my son. The rest of the photos go in envelopes with the names of family members. When the envelope is full, I stamp, mail, and start a new endowment. Then hit as many photos on a page as possible without looking too crowded. Leave room for short sentences, dates and names. I even leave room for fancy labels and simple scribbles. Of course, I will win the coveted Scrapbook Designer Award, but the precious memories that display and protect.

And to avoid getting by behind the pictures today, I can use the templates provided by the companies as Photoworks.com photo book or MyPublisher.com. I upload my favorite photos, add dates, names and titles, can I order two copies, and happily awaiting the arrival of my full photo album.

In two hours I've finished a scrapbook worthy admiration. And the best part is that I can come back later and ask for more copies for gifts for the family. Think of the grandparents, brothers and sisters, and friends long distance who consider family.

As the organization goes, My advice to her was simple. Go through your photos and start three groups: the family of her husband, his family and his immediate family (you, your husband and your children). Then get a manila envelope or box large file photo safe place and all the family photos of his husband inside. Seal and set it aside. Do the same with his version of the family. Now all you have to do is concentrate on your immediate family.

"That still too big a job, "he said." That's years of photos. What do you suggest we do? Sorted by year, on vacation, what? And what I do with the photos that I can not remember when or where they were taken? "

He looked at me straight in the eye and said, "It starts at small. For photos that you have no idea, put them in a box marked 'proceed with husband'. For other photos, divided according to how will notepad: by year, by age, by subject. Since they have years of photos, you could always make a vacation scrapbook. Start with the Day Valentine then Of Easter, July 4, after Halloween, and Thanksgiving, and finally end with Christmas. Then move in a book holiday memories, a group of friends of the family scrapbook, my favorite photo album, and was soon to random photos that could easily end up as the yearbook.

That's when she got excited and said, "That would be so much more fun to go through a whole year of photos and trying to waste them. In making theme albums, I have to see how many children have grown and can speak of the history of the family. I like that. "

And so was born a scrapbooker.
